The most significant environmental issue of the modern society is our carbon footprint. It is the greenhouse gases we add to the atmosphere of the planet as a result of our activities such as our use of electricity, consumption of processed food, excess waste and our transportation methods. "Our carbon footprint is the amount of greenhouse gas [we] are responsible for" which causes global warming and adverse changes to our climate. Carbon dioxide levels increased exponentially as a result of the Industrial Revolution from the 18th century onward. However, we can reduce our carbon footprint by making small changes in our lifestyle such as using recycled materials and reducing our waste. Our small acts of change individually will collectively contribute to a positive impact on our environment. It will help the Mother Earth heal from our mistakes and build a better future for ourselves and the coming generations.
